Ever heard that Alice in Wonderland:  “Why, sometimes I’ve believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast.” Here in Indianapolis, it’d be more like “seen as many as six amazing things before breakfast.” Taking the time to notice details will pay immediate dividends to your peepers.  There are thousands of arresting details to be discovered in this metropolis–especially within the historic parts of the city of Indianapolis.

On a recent walk, I discovered some door knockers straight out of something like The Lion King. Next time you find  yourself near the American Legion headquarters, look for these lion door knockers.

A capton idea: Don’t knock history! Go look for historical door knockers!

Trust me: that and much more has been on my list for quite some time…it’s just a matter of resources and financial backing…actively seeking backing, so if you have suggestions, I’m always open! Thanks for your kind words! 🙂

Nice! I almost like this one better than those on the Parthenon in Nashville, TN. (Though the American Legion one looks a bit cowardly compared to this: http://www.flickr.com/photos/howard33/898637658/ )

YES! My late wife and I visited the Nashville Parthenon (we’ve also seen the original in Athens, but that’s beside the point here), and have SEEN these doors here! To see the Parthenon as it was originally done, in its original colors, is really fantastic!
