When I chanced upon this vintage brochure of architecture, I squealed with joy–how cool is this? I couldn’t resist sharing this one for our ‘great outdoors’ themed month…

You don’t see a lot of vintage marketing collateral like this, or for this industry, in my limited experience. It looks to be circa 1915 based on a cursory google search.

Wagner Landscape Service of Sidney, Ohio isn’t too far away– between Dayton and Lima, Ohio–about 2.5 hours drive from Indianapolis. I presume there were similar companies established in our fair metropolis. Actually, I think one of our awesome contributors, Connie Zeigler of C. Resources, Inc has done some research in this area, so perhaps she can weigh in. If anyone knows of any vintage Indianapolis Landscape Architecture firms, I’d love to know about them. The 1897 and 1904 city directories have no listings for Landscaping in any form or fashion I’ve found.

Do these images evoke any particular areas of the city or specific properties? Weigh in!
