Though it’s not an advert, it did appear randomly in an 1896 Indianapolis publication. Since Broad Ripple is amidst the 175th anniversary celebration, thought it’d be a great time to share it.

    Have you ever heard of a terrible train wreck in or near Broad Ripple back in the mid-to-late 1800s? I seem to remember reading about a wreck there on an historical marker on the Monon Trail.

    Nope; that’s the frustrating thing with some of the old photos–too general a description, when you get one at all!
