Today’s “Room With a View” looks out from an apartment in The Marott Hotel, sometime between 1928 and the early 1940’s. The wife and son of the original owner of my Victorian home moved to the brand-new Marott when they sold my house (which they purchased from the Joseph E. Bell–later to become mayor of Indianapolis–in 1897). In the foreground you can see the first Governor’s Mansion along Fall Creek Parkway–before the official residence was moved further up Meridian. The house is sadly, long gone…
Is there any way you can point out which home is the old governor’s mansion? Thanks!
