The Paddocks were early settlers in Decatur Township and owned the land around present day Paddock Road.

One of the earliest Paddocks on record was Jonathan, who was born in 1823 in Preble County, Ohio. He died in January 1876 in Johnson County.  Census records show that his son Levi continued to live on the family land well into the 20th century.

I traveled this road many a morning on my way to my place of employment. Enjoyed several beautiful scenes during Indiana’s multiple seasons ….. Especially Spring and Winter. Thanks for sharing this interesting story.
