It’s hard to really describe style-defining characteristics of this house, considering the façade-obscuring shrubs and trees. As near as we can tell this house’s style is Black Forest Revival. What we can see from the public sidewalk are the two out-of-proportion industrial-chic side gables complete with glazed tile cornice details! While the contemporary additions appear well executed, they are not complementary to the style of the original house. Unfortunately the replacement windows used on the entire house are of Colonial traditional design. If one was to make a contemporary addition to a historic house, one should commit to it and use contrasting windows. At least there is no question as to what the addition is and what is original in this renovation.
